Old Shoes - New Shoes

Old Shoes

New Shoes

Most times I love new shoes,

I love they are so new kind of new,

I love how they have no creases in them,

I love how there are no scuffs in them,

I love how they have that new smell,

I love how they feel on my feet.

Most times. . . . . . . . . . .

then there is the time that the new shoes happen to be runners,

when they are bright white new runners,

when you know your feet are singing and dancing in those bright white new runners, but still. . . . you know. . . .

they are bright white new runners.

I felt like a geek this morning in my new bright white runners.  I felt like a new kid who joins the school mid-way through the year with new everything.  So I went looking for mud to stomp in, but found puddles of sand instead, and stomped through them.

Don't get me wrong, I love my new shoes, they don't hurt my feet like my old shoes have been lately.  The old shoes are 3 soccer seasons old, lots of caravanning, walking, kicking balls, chasing kids, working at preschool, they have served me well, very well, except for the last few weeks when they started hurting and digging into my heel.  It's time to move on, I avoided this task for as long as I could, but the day arrived when I just had to purchase the new shoes.

Do you feel like a geek in new bright white runners too?  Does it feel like you are a first time runners-wearing-person when you get new runners, or cross trainers, or all terrains, or whatever on earth they are called these days? (that is a whole other post one day when I am bored out of my brain and strangely enough find nothing to talk about - zzzzzzzzz).  I had a choice of leather or the stuff I got.  I got the stuff that I got because apparently they 'breathe'!  *ahem* I like to know that my toes can 'breathe' while I am walking, cause you know, it's a backup just in case my nose forgets.  *sigh*

Have a lovely weekend at your place.  I hope your toes can breathe, it would be a worry if they couldn't, apparently, according to the sportshop dude, it's fairly important stuff - toe breathing.

Thanks so much for stopping by my place today and toe breathing blessings to you all.

Oh very important I'm sure. I don't like new shoes of any kind. They usually hurt a bit. I like the newness of them, but then I don't buy runners. I don't like running. I do need some new slippers this winter though. Mine have toe ventilation!

Hee Hee! I don't even dare wear anything white on my enormous feet, they'd just look like clowns shoes! I'm sure you're will 'blend in' again soon - at least they are comfy though.

I don't like any shoes much at all but now I know why , I was channeling my toes and feeling the need for them to breathe , lol !!!

Oh Sarah, I need new slippers for winter too, lol toe ventilation. It's fine in summer but not winter.
lol Colette, I do feel a bit like a clown myself at the moment, but the more I walk in them the sooner they will become 'regular' shoes. lol.
Clare - I agree, shoeless is certainly the way to go.
