Thank you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.  I am really quite without words to explain myself.

The only way I can explain it is to say, I am feeling 'hugged'.  You know the kind.  One of those Grandma type hugs.  The all encompassing, all surrounding, all warmth, all arms, and heart, and soul, wrapped in Grandma's arms kinda hugs.  I miss my Grandma's hugs, but you have all just given me one of my Grandma's hugs - and it's so very delicious.

Thank you.

To add to this, I have something special to share with you today, actually, a few things to share with you today.  (I have found my words again!)

The first is, yesterday afternoon whilst working on my current 'all about Joyce' for my assignment - (struggle street), Zyatica popped over and showed me . . . .
. . . . this (above).  It's Peter Pan on a pendant!  I love it.
She gifted this to me.  Yes, it's a gift and it's for me.
Now I have Peter Pan around my neck all the time, telling me 'all it takes is faith and trust.'  Thank you Zyatica, and apologies for blubbering all over you.

The other bit I would like to share with you is that one of our neighbours moved out a few months ago now, and the last few weeks have been in the process of sorting out their house to rent it out.  Anyways they had a garage sale on the weekend and she knows that I crochet scarves for our local cancer ward, as well as squares for SIBOL and crochet a rainbow.  The above photo is what she GAVE me to use for making scarves and grannies.  !!   She wanted no money in return, she just wanted me to use it for making scarves and grannies.

Astounded = Joyce.

THEN. . . . yes, there is more, she gave me this above.
It was started by a very good friend of hers, who lived at the end of our street, who I very briefly met when we first moved into our home, but she not long after passed away.  My neighbour has kept this cross stitch, with the intention that she would finish it in memory of her friend, but has not gotten 'round to doing so.  She asked me if I would like to have it.  I told her I would finish it for her and get it back to her to give to a nursing home or her church, whatever she wished.  She said she would like that very much.  It's the least I can do for her, in a very small exchange for all the wonderful yarn.

This lolly photo is totally unrelated to all of the above, but, I just wanted to share these with you.  I was in town this morning, and passed this little lolly shop and just had to go in.  Oh my gosh, I felt like a kid again.  Choo- choo bar!!  Get outta here!  toffee apple bar!!  Double get outta here, lemon sherbies, too awesome!  I bought some sweeties to share with my kids.  These are lollies from 'when I was a kid'.

ultra mega rad!!

Thanks so much for stopping by my place today.

I hope you are having a wonderful day at your place.

Oh My Goodness, That Chic is wearing MY jacket, AND she is laughing at ME!!

Granny Takes a Trip KitEllene Warren :: Kits :: Granny Takes a Trip Kit

Oh that's so NOT FAIR!! How I love this, how I totally love this jacket, it has Joycie written all over it in every single treble, chain and dc and picot/ruffle edge. Oh I NEED this jacket for the weekend.

I am currently sewing up a pile of granny squares that I have been putting together of which I now have 28 squares. (See photo below) Initially they were going to become a knee rug (bummer that I don't have more of this 'end of line yarn' to make it bigger) of which I was planning a contrasting coloured edge and flowers dotted randomly over the rug. Since I lay the little squares down tonight, I have since decided I want to make something that I can wear. Couldn't decide between a vest or a poncho. Poncho's I love, but a vest is more versatile and easy to wear in the classroom, especially at craft time.

After moving the pieces around and joining 6 of them together, I am now formulating the idea of either a ponst or a vencho. Pardon?? You have not heard of a vencho?? Surely you have, they are all the rage now darling. lol, ok, I will share - I made it up, yes, truly I made it up. I just played with the words, vest and poncho and come up with ponst and vencho.

Ok the difference between a ponst and vencho is this, a ponst has a 'V' shaped hem to it, ie, the granny squares are placed on the diamond, so you will have 4 V's around the base of your ponst, a 'v' in the sleeves over your shoulder. The neckline will then consist of the tops of your V's folding over as a sort of collar. As for the vencho, this is basically 2 x rectangles of about 9 granny squares, joined together with sleeve gaps left open for your arms to slide through. You could also make the vencho with a cardi style front opening using a toggle and plaiting or doing a length of chain to loop the toggle through to fasten, or leave open. Then again, your vencho could have a length of chain crochetted which you can weave in and out of your trebles to form a little belt at the waist to tie your vencho closed.
So I took a break from my sewing together to see if anyone else has done a vencho or ponst, or even just a crochet vest, and this here jacket (my jacket) is what I found. *sigh* back to my ponst for now.

Have you discovered any new wardrobe items at your place lately? Oh and p.s. I am totally stone cold sober, I promise, yes I am, this is me in my natural state.

'In Betweens'

I love little projects like this, these are my 'in betweens'. You know, in between swimming lessons (yes, I take little projects with me), in between whatever is on the stove bubbling away, in between those lovely rare quiet moments after having set up the makeshift cubby house from the dining table/huge cardboard box slide in the backyard, sitting in the Dr's surgery, or just grabbing a moment when the kids are just happy in their rooms doing their own thing after a busy morning at the park/beach etc etc.

I love my little ice cream sundae magnet on my freezer door. I love to cross stitch and find at the moment, the bigger projects are just not for me, cause I know they won't get finished anytime soon. I have so much on the go for other people, which I love to do, but it's just nice to see some if it stay at my house.

The pretty lavender magnet is a little gift for my Mum. I hope she likes it, it's in the post tonight, travelling the road south to her house. I have been wanting to do this for her for ages now, and as small as it is, it's finally finished. With all the seed beads that I have here, I went searching to use some for the lavender, but don't have any purple. Oh well, it's still pretty as is.

I even managed some time this afternoon to tidy up my floss boxes. I have 4 of these and tonight, they are all in order and those that needed refilling are refilled. Yes, I even have another container with spares that I have collected when my threads have been on sale, they are also stored in numerical order.

Too bad my kitchen and laundry don't look quite so pretty and organised. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

I hope you manage to find some relaxing 'in betweens' that can brighten up your day.
